Rookies
Rookies can be stashed on your practice squad.
Their contracts do eventually expire even on the PS as the league automatically counts each year towards their contract even on the PS. However, once you decide to promote them you must inform me so I can award their full contract.
1st round picks have 5 year eligibility
All others are 4 years.
I.E. - If you stash a first round pick for 4 years and activate them in year 5 you will have that player on your active roster on a 5 year deal. If you stash a rookie not drafted in round 1 they will be awarded a 4 year contract upon activation.
Again the site does count each season towards their eligibility so eventually that contract will expire and they will be removed from your team by the site.
Once you promote a rookie they are no longer practice squad eligible.
Auction draft players
Players drafted in the auction are eligible from 1-3 years. I can set this for you.
Franchise tagged players that are retained are automatically 1 year and not eligible to be retagged the next season.
A Franchise tagged player not retained and awarded to a new team are eligible for up to 3 years by the new manager.
Contracts on auction acquired players must be declared before the first Sunday of week 1. If not they will be just 1 year deals.
FAAB Pick ups
Players picked up during the season may be placed on a contract up to 3 years for the price of your winning FAAB offer. If no contract is declared they will automatically be assigned a 1 year deal. Contract decisions on that player must be made during the same week as they were picked up.
Salary Cap
Yes it is possible to go over your auction salary cap via in season transactions. You have $100 of cap space reserved for FAAB during the season. This space can be used up by trading for higher salary players.
You cannot go over that additional $100 of cap space.
You must be back under/at the auction salary cap limit by the next seasons auction draft. Aka have $100 available
Yes you can salary dump. No you cannot simply drop players to clear cap space.
Each year you are allowed 1 salary dump via promoting a rookie and cutting a player. I will clear the cap space for you through this maneuver. You may have to utilize this if trading for large contract(s)
You can promote a rookie at any time, but only once per year can you choose to salary dump. Use it wisely.
